Darwin Nunez and Wataru Endo will return to the Liverpool starting lineup against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Liverpool are coming into the game against Fulham on the back of defeat against Crystal Palace in their last league outing, and they will be desperate to bounce back strongly. They have already dropped five points in their last two league matches and cannot afford to slip up anymore if they want to keep their title hopes alive.

The Reds are trailing Manchester City and Arsenal and must pick up all three points here to stay within touching distance. The away side do not have any new injury problems ahead of the trip to Craven Cottage.

Joel Matip and Thiago Alcantara are long-term absentees, and they will not feature again for Liverpool this season. Conor Bradley misses out with an ankle injury, while Stefan Bajcetic is still working his way to full fitness. So, he is unlikely to be risked here.

On the return of key players, Jurgen Klopp said in his pre-match press conference, “We need Trent Alexander-Arnold, of course, but we need him in a really good shape, in form and that’s now what he has to get up to. It’s not about him, it’s not his fault if he wouldn’t be, it’s just the situation, so how quick can we get him rolling?”

“Same for Diogo, for Robbo [Andy Robertson], it’s the same for Mo [Salah]. They all had injuries which they never had before, if you want – the length. Dom Szoboszlai, same. Curtis Jones, the same.”

Alisson Becker will start in goal for Liverpool as they shape up in a 4-3-3 formation. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will start as the full backs. They will look to keep things compact defensively and create goalscoring opportunities on the break. Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk will start in central defence.

Wataru Endo will start as the defensive midfielder. He will look to break up opposition attacks and shield the back four. Alexis Mac Allister and Curtis Jones will add creativity and control alongside him. Finally, Darwin Nunez will lead the line for Liverpool against Fulham, with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz on either side of him.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, van Dijk, Robertson; Mac Allister, Endo, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
