Manchester United are reporteldy keen to appoint Kieran McKenna as their new manager as scrutiny surrounding Erik ten Hag keeps increasing.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United could consider a move for their 37-year-old former coach Kieran McKenna to become their new manager. Erik ten Hag’s time could come to an end in the summer following inconsistent results and bad performances, with the Ipswich boss the latest to emerge as a target.

There have been some concerning times for Manchester United fans when reports after reports continue to linkt their club to a new managerial name. A few days ago, much of the fanbase were in a disgruntled mood following links to Gareth Southgate, something that has not quite died down, but the media has moved on to the next name.

Kieran McKenna has become the latest name on their shortlist, with the Ipswich Town boss coming at the back fo some impressive performances in the Championship. Manchester United might consider sacking Erik ten Hag following the season’s conclusion, after the Dutchman continued to oversee a string of inconcistent results.

McKenna, the 37-year-old former coach at Manchester United knows how the club works in the background. he spnt his days here as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant before taking the Ipswich Town job. He is on the brink of helping the Championship side secure back-to-back promotions, and this time it would mean an entry into the Premier League.

Whether Manchester United are overly serious about him remains the question, although McKenna surely is an interesting name on that list. The club might have a host of other targets with far more impressive CVs, as INEOS does not seem like an entity in a rush to make quick decision on a new manager or even their current one.

McKenna has been one of the standout names in the Championship and in line to achieve the manager of the season in the division. The 37-year-old has guided Ipswich to the top of the Championship table and could achieve automatic promotion. Either way they may have a guaranteed spot at the Play Offs.

Once the season concludes, he might make a decision on his future, as fans of Ipswich will certainly want him to lead the team in the top flight.
