Liverpool set to hold talks with Ruben Amorim and Julian Nagelsmann

Liverpool are all set to hold talks with Ruben Amorim and Julian Nagelsmann as they look for Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

According to a report by Football Insider, Liverpool’s hunt for a new manager continues. The Reds are on the lookout for the best possible in order to ensure they can maintain the club’s success despite the managerial change. While their priority is to have Xabi Alonso take it, the Merseyside club are also keen on Ruben Amorim and Julian Nagelsmann.

The duo are on their list of potential candidates alongside the Bayer Leverkusen coach. The Reds would love to have Alonso back in their ranks but they have received a blow in their pursuit as the former Spanish international prefers staying in Germany and will prefer taking the Bayern Munich job.

Liverpool after the signatures of Amorim & Nagelsmann

As a result, the Reds are looking to keep their options open and they will soon hold talks with Amorim and Nagelsmann. The 39-year-old has done wonders at Sporting CP. His impressive work at the Portuguese club has put him on the radar of Liverpool.

He has transformed them into a winning side and they are currently leading the race for the league title. The Reds feel he could be an ideal candidate to take the club forward. Amorim is expected to be interviewed by the Merseyside club in the near future.

Even Nagelsmann is set to hold talks with the Reds regarding the role at the club. Things might not worked out for him at Bayern but he is a highly-rated manager who has proved himself back in the day. The 36-year-old German manager is currently in charge of his national team but his contract ends after the summer’s European championships.

And, he could return to a club managerial role without much trouble. However, he will not be able to oversee the pre-season until July which does seem to be a hurdle at this stage.

Liverpool will look to ensure they sign a new manager way before the start of pre-season to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible. They have started to make moves and it will be interesting to see how things pan out from here on.
