Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly keen on securing the Manchester United or Barcelona job at the end of the season.

According to reputed German journalist Christian Falk, Thomas Tuchel is open to taking over at Manchester United in the summer. Meanwhile, Florian Plettenberg has claimed that the former Chelsea manager is open to the Barcelona job as well.

Tuchel will be relieved of his duties after a disappointing season with Bayern Munich so far. The German champions are currently eight points adrift in second place, and they might not be able to win the league title this season.

Despite having a formidable squad at their disposal, Tuchel has not been able to get the best out of his team. So, it is hardly surprising that the Bavarian giants have decided to part ways with him at the end of the season.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to appoint the former Chelsea manager. He won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea during his previous spell in England. Manchester United have endured a mediocre campaign so far, and Erik ten Hag is under a lot of pressure.

The Dutchman could easily find himself out of a job if things do not improve quickly. Manchester United have been linked with a number of managers recently, including Antonio Conte, and Tuchel would be an interesting option.

Thomas Tuchel appointment might not excite fans

While there is no doubt that he is a superb tactician, Tuchel has had an underwhelming career at big clubs so far. His domestic performances were quite mediocre at Chelsea, while he failed to guide Paris Saint-Germain to European triumph. It will be interesting to see if clubs like Manchester United are prepared to take a gamble on him.

Meanwhile, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has already confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen whether the Spanish outfit are prepared to bring the German as their next manager.

The opportunity to manage Manchester United and Barcelona can be attractive for any manager, and the German will certainly hope to secure a big opportunity this summer. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
