Manchester United are keen on the German manager Thomas Tuchel.
A report from the Telegraph claims that Manchester United are already planning for life after Erik ten Hag and they have identified the former Chelsea manager as a target.
The German manager did an impressive job during his time in the Premier League and he helped Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League title. He has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich at the end of the season and it will be interesting to see if he is keen on a return to England.
Ten Hag is under tremendous pressure after his team’s poor start to the season despite being backed with a number of quality signings during the summer transfer window. The Dutch manager has failed to get the best out of his players and Manchester United have not been able to challenge for major trophies.
The Red Devils might not secure Champions League qualification either and Ten Hag might have to pay the price with his departure.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils decide to bring in Tuchel as a replacement. The German manager has certainly proven himself in European football over the years and he has the quality to manage a club like Manchester United. In addition to that, he knows the Premier League well and he might be able to settle in quickly and make immediate impact.
A club of Manchester United’s stature will be expected to compete for major trophies and Tuchel certainly knows what it takes to fight at the highest level. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
