Luis Diaz and Dominik Szoboszlai will feature in the Liverpool starting lineup against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road on Sunday.

Liverpool are coming into the game against Luton Town on the back of four consecutive victories, and they will be full of confidence and momentum. The Reds have been very impressive with their performances and should be able to grind out all three points against a vulnerable Luton Town defence.

The home side or going through a rough patch right now, and they have failed to win nine of their last ten league matches. A game against Liverpool will be an uphill challenge for them, and it will be interesting to see if they can step up and produce a strong performance.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will be without the services of Thiago Alcantara (hip), Stefan Bajcetic (groin) and Andrew Robertson (shoulder) because of their respective injuries. And Klopp provided an update on Thiago and Bajcetic during his pre-match press conference.

On Bajcetic, he said, “No, we don’t know [when he will be back]. With Stefan it’s, again, one of these things. Stefan’s quality, potential, talent, everybody could see and it’s incredible – what a player – but the body was not ready yet.”

On Thiago, Klopp said, “With Thiago it is slightly different, it’s an ongoing thing and we cannot put any kind of pressure on there as well. We expect him to be back – and I would say probably the start of the New Year. It’s now already November, so that would mean another four weeks. I would say that’s probably a realistic thing to try and I can’t wait, to be honest, to have him back.”

Liverpool are likely to shape up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Alisson Becker in goal. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Kostas Tsimikas will start as the full-backs, and they will look to contribute offensively as well as protect the central defenders. Ibrahima Konate will start alongside Virgil van Dijk at the heart of Liverpool’s defence.

In the midfield, Dominik Szoboszlai will return to the starting lineup alongside Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch. Gravenberch and Szoboszlai will look to add creativity and drive to the side. Mac Allister will be expected to anchor the midfield. Meanwhile, Klopp spoke about Luis Diaz during his presser after the Colombian international dealt with personal issues last week.

He said, “He was in training two days ago, he had yesterday a session and will be part of the team. We must wait – if he feels right he will be here and train with us. The session he had with us, because then we were not here, you could see that when he is with the boys it is fine, it’s OK. But you could see as well that he didn’t sleep a lot.”

Darwin Nunez will lead the line for the away side, and he will look to continue his impressive goalscoring form. Mohamed Salah will be deployed on the right wing, and Luis Diaz is expected to return to action on the left of a front three. So, Diogo Jota and Cody Gakpo will find themselves on the bench this weekend.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Szoboszlai, Allister, Gravenberch; Salah, Nunez, Diaz
