German manager Jurgen Klopp is considering parting ways with Liverpool after the end of the 2023-24 season.
According to a report by Football Transfers, Jurgen Klopp could leave Liverpool next summer. The German manager is seriously considering his future at the Merseyside club and an exit after the end of the 2023-24 season is on the cards.
If things do not go according to plan for Klopp in the upcoming season, he could end his successful stint at the club next summer. Meanwhile, the report also states that if they end up enjoying a successful season and meet the expectations, he might carry on fulfilling his contract that runs until the summer of 2026.
The German manager joined Liverpool in October 2015 after a seven-year-long stint at Borussia Dortmund. He did wonders for the German club and his performances resulted in the Merseyside club hiring him to be their new boss.
Liverpool were struggling to make it to the top four on a consistent basis before the arrival of Klopp. The German manager took over from Brendan Rodgers midway through the 2015-16 season and ended up guiding them to an eight-place finish.
Post that things started to improve and they ended up finishing inside the top four for the next six seasons in a row. During that period they won the Premier League as well as the Champions League. Klopp managed to turn them into a winning machine.
However, things didn’t go according to plan last season as they struggled throughout and ended up finishing fifth. There were major issues with the squad and Klopp was promised a major overhaul but that is yet to happen.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Jude Bellingham but they opted out because of his huge price tag. While they have acquired two new star midfielders Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, they have offloaded as many as six midfielders and there is still a lot of work to be done.
Their pursuit of Romeo Lavia hasn’t gone according to plan as the club have failed to meet the demands of Southampton and multiple bids from their side have been rejected. Liverpool are all set to head into the next season without a proper number 6.
The transfer window hasn’t gone according to plan so far and they are still looking to sign at least another midfielder and a defender before the end of the window. If they fail to do, Klopp might end up leaving as he has privately admitted that he has taken the squad as far as he could have.
