Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all set to battle it out for the services of Brentford’s transfer expert Lee Dykes.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are both keen on signing Lee Dykes as their new director of football. Dykes has done wonders with Brentford over the past few seasons. And, he is on the radar of multiple English clubs.

Dykes joined the Bees back in the summer of 2019 from Bury. He started off as their head of scouting and did some incredible transfer business which has helped them get promoted to the English top flight.

On the back of his incredible work for the club, they promoted him to the post of Technical Director ahead of the ongoing season. His great work has caught the eye of numerous clubs in England. And, clubs are all set to fight it out for his services ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

The 39-year-old is on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United. Both clubs are looking to hire a new director of football. And, they believe the Brentford technical director could be the right fit for the club.

Spurs are in all sorts of trouble at this point in time. And, their chairman Daniel Levy is looking to sort things out before the transfer window starts. He is first looking to sign a new manager and then shift his focus towards the director of football’s role.

While his priority is sorting the managerial situation, he is well aware of the importance of having a transfer expert with the qualities of Dykes. They want to sort it out as soon as possible in order to shift their focus back to transfers.

Tottenham received a major setback when Fabio Paratici was handed a 30-month ban by FIFA for his involvement in the Juventus scandal. Post that ban, the director of football’s post has been vacant and they want to appoint Dykes to fill it up.

Meanwhile, West Ham United are also keen on the 39-year-old. The Hammers have been disappointed with their transfer business under David Moyes. And, they want to bring in a new director to improve their recruitment process.

While they are keen on having Lee Dykes, the Hammers also have their eyes on Paul Mitchell who is all set to part ways with AS Monaco and Michael Edwards, the former Liverpool chief.
