Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for 56-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Julen Lopetegui.

Julen Lopetegui has done an impressive job at Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers. And a report from Football Insider claims that Tottenham are lining up a summer move for the 56-year-old manager.

The North London giants are yet to bring in a quality alternative to Antonio Conte. And former midfielder Ryan Mason is currently the caretaker manager at the club. Spurs will have to bring in a quality manager at the end of the season. And Lopetegui has emerged as a viable candidate to fill the void at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 56-year-old Spaniard could prove to be an interesting acquisition. Lopetegui is certainly used to the Premier League by now, and the opportunity to manage a top club like Tottenham could be an attractive option for him.

The Spaniard has managed big clubs like Real Madrid and Sevilla in the past. He helped Sevilla win the UEFA Europa League during the 2019/20 season. And Tottenham will hope that he can end their wait for the trophy.

It has been a dismal campaign for Tottenham so far, and they are likely to miss out on UEFA Champions League qualification. However, they can still secure European football if they manage to finish the season strongly.

Daniel Levy will be under pressure to appoint a proven manager who can inspire confidence in the players and the fans. Lopetegui is certainly an experienced manager who is highly regarded in European football. Wolves have impressed with his attacking approach and he could help rejuvenate the Tottenham side next season.

The North London giants have a number of quality attackers at their disposal. And appointing a manager with an attacking approach could be a good fit for them. The 56-year-old will be hoping to prove himself at a higher level, and a move to Tottenham could be the ideal next step in his career.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have been linked with managers like Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino as well. However, the move for Nagelsmann seems off because the German does not want to join the club without a sporting director. On the other hand, Pochettino is now closing in on a move to London rivals Chelsea.

    This is complete rubbish. Wolves will not release Lopetegui and he doesn’t want to leave – certainly not for Spurs!
