Cody Gakpo will start, but Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez will miss out when Liverpool and Leicester City clash on Monday.

Leicester City and Liverpool will lock horns at the King Power Stadium on Monday night, and they will be desperate for all three points for very different reasons.

Leicester City are currently 19th in the league table, and they will be looking to enhance their chances of securing safety. It has been a disastrous campaign for the Foxes, and they are likely to put up a fight in order to preserve their status as a top-flight club.

On the other hand, Liverpool’s chances of Champions League qualification seemed all but over a few weeks ago. However, the likes of Manchester United and Newcastle United have dropped quite a few points in recent weeks and the Reds are now in with a slim chance of securing a top-four finish.

Liverpool are on a six-match winning run and they will look to pile further misery on the home side here. The Reds will be without the services of Calvin Ramsay, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara. All three players have been ruled out for the remainder of the season with injuries.

Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita are currently back in training. But Jurgen Klopp has confirmed in his pre-match press conference that neither of the two players will be available to feature here.

“I saw Bobby in training yesterday and it looks like pretty much [he is] nearly there, but I don’t think he will be in for the weekend. If I go out of here and he will be in the session, I would be surprised. I assume that we start with him team training-wise after the Leicester game. And Naby, no.”

Alisson Becker is set to continue in goal with the Reds lining up in a 4-3-3 formation. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will line up as the full-backs and they will look to add creativity to the side along with defensive cover. Ibrahima Konate will partner Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the defence.

In the midfield, Fabinho will be the anchor with Jordan Henderson adding defensive cover to the side alongside him. Curtis Jones is likely to start as well, and he will look to add creativity to the midfield. Cody Gakpo will lead the line for the visitors here with Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz on either side of him.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Jones; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz
