Luka Modric will return, but Eder Militao will be unavailable for Real Madrid against Manchester City when the two teams meet on Tuesday.
Real Madrid will be eager to take a step closer to the UEFA Champions League final when they welcome Manchester City to the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday evening. And Carlo Ancelotti has a new roster issue hampering his preparations ahead of his side’s latest fixture.
Eder Militao will miss the game due to suspension. The Brazilian international has joined Ferland Mendy on the sidelines ahead of the midweek fixture. Otherwise, Ancelotti has a near-full-strength squad for the game against Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Luka Modric is fit and available after featuring in the Copa del Rey final this past weekend. Meanwhile, Ancelotti discussed Modric’s fitness during his pre-match press conference. And he revealed that the Croat should be fit enough to start.
Ancelotti said, “He can play, no problem. If he’s good he plays and tomorrow he will do. It’s clear in midfield. Modrić will play and others. Camavinga sometimes changes position depending on whether he has the ball or not.”
“Sometimes he plays inside and sometimes between the lines. He’s not a full-back who pushes on down the wing, on the outside we have one who is pretty dangerous, in Vinicius. He’s only a full-back when we don’t have the ball and he occupies that position.”
Modric should return to the starting lineup, replacing Aurelien Tchouameni. The veteran Croat will join Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos in the trifecta in the middle of the park. So Tchouameni and Dani Ceballos will be options on the bench.
Meanwhile, Eder Militao’s absence means Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba should form the central defensive partnership. Meanwhile, Dani Carvajal and Eduardo Camavinga will continue as the two full-backs. And there is no looking past Thibaut Courtois between the sticks.
Finally, the offensive unit should remain unchanged despite Marco Asensio’s impressive form in the last few weeks. So Karim Benzema will spearhead the Real Madrid attack against Manchester City. And Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes will be the two wide men, with Asensio being a backup option on the bench.
Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Carvajal, Rudiger, Alaba, Camavinga; Valverde, Kroos, Modric; Rodrygo, Benzema, Vinicius Jr.
