Tottenham initiate contact with Ruben Amorim

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bring in a replacement for Antonio Conte and have been linked with a move for Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim has done an impressive job at the Portuguese club, and the 38-year-old is regarded as one of the best young managers in European football right now. A report from The Times claims that Tottenham have been in touch with the Sporting CP boss, and he is prepared to take the job at the end of the season.

The report claims that German manager Julian Nagelsmann is currently the priority target for the North London club. But they could look to make a move for Amorim if they fail to land the 35-year-old.

Nagelsmann was recently sacked by Bayern Munich after a series of poor performances, and he has been linked with a move to the Premier League. The 35-year-old German manager is undoubtedly one of the brightest young managers in the world, and he could prove to be a solid acquisition for Tottenham.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get a deal across the line for their priority target. Amorim would be a quality alternative if they fail to learn to Joban. Sporting CP have played impressive attacking football under Amorim this season, and he could get the best out of the Spurs players.

His side impressed against the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in the European competitions this season. Tottenham have a talented squad at their disposal, and there is no reason why they cannot challenge for trophies with a couple of intelligent additions.

Bringing in a quality manager will certainly help them improve next season. Amorim has the quality to manage at the highest level. And the opportunity to take over at Spurs is likely to be an attractive option for him. He will be determined to showcase his qualities in the Premier League and end Tottenham’s wait for a trophy.
