Chelsea will look to bounce back from the disappointing defeat at home to Aston Villa when they host Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday night.

Bruno Saltor will take charge of the London club after the dismissal of Graham Potter following a series of disappointing performances.

Chelsea are currently 11th in the league table and a club of their stature should be challenging for Champions League qualification at the very least. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can grind out a positive result here and close in on the European spots in the coming weeks.

The Blues are set to be without the services of Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta and Armando Broja due to injuries.

While Azpilicueta is ruled out with a concussion, Silva is still recovering from his knee injury. Broja is unlikely to play again this season.

The likes of Raheem Sterling and Wesley Fofana missed out against Aston Villa but they could be back to face Liverpool on Tuesday. Edouard Mendy is expected to be in the squad as well after recovering from his finger injury.

Before his dismissal, Potter revealed: “Wesley is going to miss the game [against Aston Villa] because his hamstring is still a little bit tight, there’s a chance for Tuesday with him. Raheem is coming back. He will miss the game, think he’s got more chance for Tuesday. He was close. Well, Thiago and Azpi are still away.”

Chelsea are likely to shape up in a 3-5-2 formation with Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal.

The back three will comprise of Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Benoit Badiashile. Reece James and Ben Chilwell will look to add creativity and width to the side as the wing-backs here. The two players will look to provide cover to the central defenders and overload the Liverpool defence during transitions.

French midfielder N’Golo Kante has returned to action from his injury and he is set to anchor the midfield here. The defensive midfielder will look to win the ball back for his side while the likes of Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez will add drive and creativity from the middle of the park.

Joao Felix will partner with Kai Havertz in the attack for Chelsea.

Probable Lineup (3-5-2): Kepa; Fofana, Koulibaly, Badiashile; James, Fernandez, Kante, Kovacic, Chilwell; Havertz, Felix
