Tottenham Hotspur have received a major setback in their pursuit of former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann.

According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur who have been interested in appointing Julian Nagelsmann as their new manager have received a major setback. The former Bayern Munich manager is not interested in joining Spurs at this stage of his managerial career.

Spurs are currently looking for a new manager. The London club recently parted ways with Italian manager Antonio Conte. The board wasn’t satisfied with his performances and his explosive press conference after their 3-3 draw against Southampton didn’t go down well with the club.

Conte blasted the players and the club after the draw. He was already under scrutiny post their exit from the Champions League at the hands of AC Milan. The media interaction that followed a few days later further worsened the situation and it led to his sacking.

Tottenham have appointed Cristian Stellini as their caretaker manager until the end of the season. And, they have started the hunt for their next boss. Nagelsmann was a part of their potential list. The club were set to push for his signatures but recent reports suggest that he might not be interested in joining the London club.

The 35-year-old manager was recently sacked by Bayern Munich. He averaged 2.31 points per game in his almost two-year-long spell at the club. Nagelsmann was in charge for a total of 84 matches and only lost 10 games.

As far as the ongoing season is concerned, he had lost only 3 out of his 37 matches. Bayern were in contention for all major titles under his leadership. However, he didn’t have a great relationship with the players and people at the club were not happy about the progress under him. As a result, he was shown the exit door.

Spur are keen on having him at the club. But, according to the 35-year-old joining, Tottenham is not the right move for him. He fears that arriving at the London club could damage his career. The former Bayern Munich manager wants to take over a club that could push for trophies right from the get-go. And, he believes Spurs are not the right club for him.

After these reports emerged from Germany, it looks unlikely that Tottenham will be able to land Nagelsmann at the club and might push for other options ahead of next season.
