Antonio Conte to part ways with Tottenham Hotspur as the club look to appoint Ryan Mason as their interim boss.

According to a report by Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to hand over the reins of the club to Ryan Mason. With Antonio Conte likely to part ways with the club, the former Spurs player could take charge of the club.

Conte’s future at Tottenham has been uncertain for a while now. And, his departure is a matter of time according to a report by Fichajes following his harsh words against the club and the players in a recent press conference.

The Italian boss exploded at the press conference after their draw against bottom-placed Southampton. Spurs had a two-goal lead but ended up drawing 3-3 against the Saints. The result didn’t go down well with the Italian manager as he blasted his players in his media interaction.

Conte said: “We are not a team. We are players who go out on the field. I see selfish players, who don’t want to help themselves and don’t have a heart. I have tried to hide the situation and improve it. You need to have this at all times. This season, compared to the previous one, we are worse in this regard.”

Conte didn’t stop there as he even talked about why Spurs haven’t won a major trophy for ages.

Tottenham’s exit from the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 at the hands of AC Milan brought Conte’s place at the club under scrutiny. His press conference comments have just made matters worse. And as per the reports, he will be on his way out soon.

Meanwhile, the London club are looking to appoint Ryan Mason as their interim manager. The former Spurs player has been a part of their coaching setup since the summer of 2019. He has had different roles at the club over the past few years and was their caretaker manager in the summer of 2021.

Mason did a decent job as their caretaker manager having won 4 out of the 7 matches he was in charge of. The 31-year-old is currently their Technical Coach and is likely to be appointed as the interim boss yet again. But, this time he might have 10 games to showcase his potential.

The former Spurs player has a good relationship with star striker Harry Kane. And, he is a well-respected figure in their dressing room. With Conte’s departure almost a certainty, Mason might be asked to fill in until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are on the look for a new boss. They are interested in bringing back Mauricio Pochettino. The former Paris Saint-Germain manager would love to return to the club. However, they might look to sign him ahead of next season rather than bringing him at this stage with just a few months left in the season.

  1. Please give Ryan a caretaker job at least, then bring back Poch. They are a team. COYS! from somebody who is part of a family who are Spurs supporters through four, yes 4, generations. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼👍🏼

  2. Richard Amott says:

The biggest problem is Daniel levy he is investing in hotels, housing, American Football, go kart tracks, nothing in the team! If he is that interested in America why doesn’t he move there,

  3. David Blewett says:

Please bring back Poch. He will give our academy players a chance unlike Conte

  4. Stuart Ramsay says:

Mason is part of the problem. He has been in and about the first team training for last three years. Time for him to head to pastures new.

I would much prefer Powell to step up from the U21’s for the rest of the season. He would be a great asset to Poch when he arrives too.

Do not blsme Conte’s outburst. This inconsistant results of Spurs team, is due to prolonged unsuitable and under par defence line, except Christian Romero, n no attacking midfield general. Look how many times, Ben Davies, Dier, Emerson , Sanchez has been beaten, n made silly mistakes. But still Spurs persist with these WEAK LINKS. NOBODY LISTENS, SEES… and NO ACTION TAKEN. LOOK AT ARSENAL…ACTION TAKEN.

    • John Bosco Nsubuga says:

But is responsible for these bad players ur talking about??… it’s entirely Conte’s problem… can you imagine, the man sends on loan Brian Gill yet we got limited options for creative midfielders???.. this is scandalous for lack of a better word… now see,he loaned out Jed Spencer a highly talented attacking right full back,he prefers unreliable Emerson….Conte knows that apart from Romero,we got no decent center back, but he refuses to recruit any and he concentrates on recruiting for the right full back which already is well catered for…. lastly, his style of counter attacks is ineffective coz of lack of a creative midfield….so the guy is entirely responsible for our poor display.

      • Earnestih says:

See brother, Conte’s football style is no fit for English football,en I don’t know what Levy thought of bringing conte in no fit style of England,en my view is Conte is doing nothing to Our Spurs,so I think the management Shud bring back Porch not even after this season before Late en atleast we participate in some thing like we want to participate in all Europe competitionz

  6. Hilary Santa Maria says:

Conte has lost the confidence of his players. His rigid system of play has been well analysed by the other teams, who have found it easy to stifle and contain his players even when they have possession.Noticehow often when a Spurs player has possession of the ball,he has difficulty finding a team-mate who is free to receive a pass. Spurs find it very hard to maintain possession of the ball and dictate play for more than a minute. The losss of form of Son and Deki is surprising.Have we seen the emergence of any new player in the team ? Spurs would be lucky to be involved in any European competition at all next season.

  7. Leroy Minott says:

I’m in full of sending Conte on his way. I’ve felt this way for sometime now. He’s the manager and he takes responsibility for nothing. He blames everyone else but himself. Additionally, I’m not a fan of his park the bus coaching method. Others claim that it’s counter attacking football. I don’t. He’s Mourinho2 in my book. Time to move on. Himself and several of the players must go . Time for serious rebuilding. I’ve been a Spurs supporter all my life and I’ve never been more disappointed.
