Mikel Arteta will make essential tweaks to the Arsenal lineup for the Brentford clash, with Leandro Trossard set for a full Premier League debut.

Mikel Arteta remained unfazed after the Everton defeat last weekend. He is unlikely to make any dramatic changes to his starting lineup against Brentford on Saturday. The Arsenal boss could yet make slight tweaks to the team, but that would be keeping in mind the midweek clash with Manchester City.

There are no fresh concerns with injuries and suspensions for Arsenal after the Everton game. Arteta did confirm the absence of Gabriel Jesus, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson during his pre-match press conference.

Arteta said, “The ones that were long-term – like Emile, Reiss and Gabriel Jesus – they are closer, and they’ve started to do some activities and have been outside. But they are not ready yet to be considered.”

He further added an update on Jesus after the striker resumed light outdoor training. Arteta continued, “Gabby is doing really well. He’s already been outside a little bit but it’s still early stages. He keeps pushing everybody every single day, but we need to respect some timelines and processes. He’s doing really well.”

Aaron Ramsdale will continue between the sticks, although a slightly tweaked back four could come into effect. Takehiro Tomiyasu might replace Ben White at right-back, with Arteta likely to rotate his charges ahead of the crucial midweek clash with Manchester City.

William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Oleksandr Zinchenko will stay in the backline. There will be no changes to the central midfield places, with Thomas Partey reprising the No.6 role. Granit Xhaka and Martin Odegaard will be on either side of Partey. The Norwegian playmaker will take his usual advanced role among the trio.

Bukayo Saka will line up on the right-hand side of the attack, while Leandro Trossard could replace Gabriel Martinelli on the left. Eddie Nketiah will continue to lead the line for the Gunners. New signings Jakub Kiwior and Jorginho will form part of the bench alongside the other available players in the squad.

Predicted Arsenal XI: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Trossard; Nketiah
