Darwin Nunez will start, while Ibrahima Konate will be on the bench when Liverpool welcome Leicester City to Anfield on Friday.

Leicester City come into the game against Liverpool on the back of a defeat to Newcastle United. And the Foxes will need to improve considerably to get something out of the contest on Friday night. Liverpool will be the favourites at Anfield, and they will look to pile further misery on former manager Brendan Rodgers.

Liverpool are currently sixth in the Premier League table, and they will hope to close in on the top four with a win. Meanwhile, Leicester City are 13th in the standings and will look to close in on the top half with a positive result.

Manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed to the media during his pre-match press conference that Liverpool do not have any fresh injury problems heading into this game. The Reds will be without the long-term absentees Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota and Arthur Melo.

In addition, Roberto Firmino, who missed the Aston Villa game with a knock, could be sidelined once again. However, French defender Ibrahima Konate is back in the side after his break after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Klopp said, “No new injury problems after the [Villa] game, not that a lot would come back for the [Leicester] game apart from Ibou. He is now training with us, he will be available now as well. So, positive for this moment but we know it will be a tough game.”

It will not be surprising if Liverpool decide to proceed with an unchanged lineup for the game against Leicester City. Alisson Becker is set to continue in goal behind the back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil, van Dijk and Andrew Robertson. Konate is expected to be on the bench.

In the midfield three, Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson are expected to start either side of defensive midfielder Fabinho. Moving ahead, Darwin Nunez is expected to lead the line against Leicester, with Mohamed Salah on his right and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain starting as the left-sided forward.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago; Salah, Nunez, Oxlade-Chamberlain
