Manchester United owners have put the clubs on the market as they are willing to sell the club and are in severe discussion with some investment companies.
As per British agent Haydn Dodge as relayed by Caught Offside, the Glazers family are contemplating selling Manchester United to an interested suitor and have been submerged in deep negotiations in the last few days.
Since their takeover of the club, the owners have turned the club into a cash-ringing machine and have been taking sufficient amounts of dividend to their own coffers.
Despite investing loads of money in the club the owners have been the subject of severe scrutiny and have faced a strong amount of protest from the supporters in recent times for their negligence.
With Liverpool owners expressing their willingness to sell their stake to a perfect suitor, United’s American owners could follow the suit. The Red Devils can still be regarded as a very attractive proposition for investors and their on-field performance wouldn’t be a stumbling block for the new owners to inject fresh funds.
The planning of renovation of the Old Trafford too is being conceived and it might be one of the reasons why the Glazers want to part ways with their most premium business interest.
Revamping the stadium would require millions of funds and the owners are unlikely to sanction any further monetary involvement from their own pocket. Sir Jim Ratcliffe was touted to be one of the interested persons and it remains to be seen whether he would emerge if a such situation occurs in near future.
Haydn Dodge insisted the owners want to divest their stakes and would be looking for a potential bid of around £4 billion.
“Every penny will always be scrutinised and chastised due to their public nature.
“Old Trafford needs a revamp as well, so that’s a big problem and the owners know they are continually under the microscope.
There are talks taking place to sell the club with investment companies in the United States but, as usual, everyone involved has been forced to sign non-disclosure agreements.”
“The Glazers’ valuation is just under £4 billion.”
