Eduardo Camavinga will start in place of the injured Luka Modric when Real Madrid take on RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid have an impressive record against German outfits. And they have lost just once in their last eight away trips to Bundesliga sides in the UEFA Champions League. Los Blancos will look to continue that solid record when they take on RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

Carlo Ancelotti will demand a strong performance from his players here, and Real Madrid could seal their place in the knockout rounds by winning their group this week. The Spanish giants have picked up three wins and a draw from their group games so far and will be the favourites heading into the contest.

However, they have a number of injury issues to deal with this midweek. And it will be interesting to see how Ancelotti sets his side up for the trip to Leipzig. Star midfielder Luka Modric has been ruled out of the game with an injury. Real Madrid will also be without Dani Ceballos, Federico Valverde and Karim Benzema as well.

Ancelotti said in his pre-match press conference, “Of course the players are thinking about reaching the World Cup in good condition, but you’re also in good condition when you’ve been playing regularly.”

RB Leipzig vs Real Madrid Preview: Probable Lineups, Prediction, Tactics, Team News & Key Stats

“We don’t want to take any risks at such an important moment, it’s better to lose Karim or Modric for one game than for one month. That’s how we manage these kinds of situations. The four of them will return on Sunday.”

Belgian international Thibaut Courtois has returned from injury, and he will start between the sticks. Experienced Spaniard Dani Carvajal will continue as the right-back, with Ferland Mendy deployed as the left-back. Eder Militao is expected to partner David Alaba at the heart of Real Madrid’s defence.

In the absence of Modric, French youngster Eduardo Camavinga is expected to come into the side. Aurelien Tchouameni will start as the defensive midfielder, and he will be partnered by Camavinga and Toni Kroos in the middle of the park.

In the attack, the struggling Eden Hazard is expected to lead the line in the absence of Benzema. Vinicius Junior will retain his place as the left-sided winger, and Rodrygo Goes will be deployed as the right winger here.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Courtois; Carvajal, Militao, Alaba, Mendy; Camavinga, Tchouameni, Kroos; Rodrygo, Hazard, Vinicius Jr.
