Transfer News: AC Milan, Juventus interested in Isco

Serie A giants AC Milan and Juventus are reportedly keen on signing out of favour Real Madrid midfielder Isco on a Bosman move in the summer.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Isco’s next destination could be the Serie A, with three Italian clubs showing an interest in signing him on a Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The out of favour Spanish midfielder looks set to leave Real Madrid as a free agent.

Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in July 2013 and has since endured a topsy-turvy ride at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 29-year-old was widely regarded as one of the brightest young midfielders in Europe when he moved to Real Madrid, but has failed to deliver on the promise in the last eight and a half years.

The Spaniard’s stock has fallen considerably in the last few years, and he has garnered only 342 minutes of playing time across 11 appearances in the ongoing campaign. After entering the final six months of his contract, Isco is set to leave Real Madrid as a free agent. The player’s next destination could be the Serie A, with AC Milan and Juventus among his prospective suitors.

The interest from AC Milan comes in the wake of Brahim Diaz’s inconsistent performances since arriving on loan from Real Madrid. And with Franck Kessie set to depart San Siro as a free agent, the Serie A giants will need to enter the market for a central midfielder, making Isco a viable target.

Interestingly, Kessie has been linked with Real Madrid, although Paris Saint-Germain could be his next destination. On the other hand, Juventus’s eagerness to sign Isco on a free transfer stems from the poor displays of their midfielders in the ongoing campaign.

They succeeded in offloading Aaron Ramsey, albeit on loan. But Juventus will hope to sell the Welshman in the summer. The Serie A heavyweights are also keen on getting Adrien Rabiot off their books, while Arthur’s future at the Allianz Stadium remains uncertain.

In addition to AC Milan and Juventus, Isco is also a target for Fiorentina. What appears to be certain for now is that the 29-year-old Spanish international will leave Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer transfer window.
