Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in Celtic attacker Liel Abada, as Patrick Vieira eyes attacking reinforcements for the summer.

According to Football Scotland, Crystal Palace are keen on signing Celtic attacker Liel Abada, as Patrick Vieira eyes key attacking reinforcements for the summer transfer window. The Israeli international has been sensational this season, and the Londoners are eager to bring him to England.

Among the many problems Celtic have faced in recent times, Liel Abada’s performances are not one of them. The Scottish giants signed the Israeli attacker last summer, possibly as a much-needed reinforcement after Odsonne Edouard left the club to join Crystal Palace.

The 20-year-old attacker has been a revelation since making the switch to Glasgow from Petah Tikva in his homeland. Primarily playing from the right-hand side of the front three, Abada has become an all-important part of the Celtic side, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists across all competitions.

His performances have already alerted a few clubs. Among them are Crystal Palace, who are already planning to raid the Glasgow side once more. The Eagles are interested in Abada, as Patrick Vieira eyes key attacking reinforcements in the summer.

Palace have been keen on bringing a forward who could play in wide positions and contribute centrally if needed. The Londoners have chased all sorts of options but could only sign Edouard last summer; they followed up on their requirement in the previous window in January but returned empty-handed.

The only major piece of business in the attack was Crystal Palace’s decision to make Jean-Philippe Mateta’s loan move permanent. They might have done it to exercise their modest clause to acquire the striker, although it certainly does not guarantee him as a long-term option for the club.

Crystal Palace also had a bid rejected for Eddie Nketiah by Arsenal, who Mikel Arteta wanted to keep since the north Londoners have a shortage of options in the final third. However, Vieira could still move for the Arsenal striker when he becomes a free agent in the summer.

As for the interest in Abada, it could be a difficult chase for Palace. Celtic are understandably not keen on selling the 20-year-old attacker just yet and might only sanction a move after another season. The only way the Eagles could get the player is by making an irresistible bid in the summer, something for the Scottish club to consider.
