Transfer News: Real Madrid open talks to sign Endrick

La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid have reportedly opened talks to secure the services of 15-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Endrick.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s interest in Endrick has grown, with the Spanish giants initiating discussions to sign him. The 15-year-old Palmeiras prodigy has recently confessed that he is a Real Madrid fan and is rooting for them to win the UEFA Champions League this season.

Endrick has taken the footballing world by storm with his exploits in age-group football in Brazil. A part of Palmeiras for years, the teenage attacking sensation is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in his homeland, having netted 169 goals in 175 official appearances for the Alviverde at different levels.

Most recently, Endrick was in the limelight for his performances at the Copinha, considered one of the most prestigious Under-20 tournaments in world football. The 15-year-old was in sensational form as Palmeiras won the competition, and he was named the Most Valuable Player while also scoring the goal of the tournament.

Endrick’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with some of the most high profile clubs across Europe setting their sights on him. La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are also keen on securing the services of the prodigious striker, with the player himself a fan of the club.

In a recent interview with MARCA, Endrick said, “They are a club I’m very fond of because of Cristiano Ronaldo, who I always followed, with the four Champions League trophies he won there. I have a lot of love for Real Madrid because of Cristiano, although I have also looked up some of their history and they are a very good team.”

“It is very gratifying for me to know that they are watching me and seeing my games. I am very grateful to God for that. I have to do more, it’s not good enough yet, I have to give more. I still have a way to go. I’m rooting for them to win another Champions League.”

Endrick will only be able to move to Europe after he turns 18, but Real Madrid can agree a deal to sign him well before that. To that end, the Spanish giants have reportedly been readying an offer to sign the 15-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation and facilitate his arrival in two years.

The Merengues have a storied history of entering the Brazilian market for precocious talents who later become key figures in their first-team setup. Such an outlook has fetched Real Madrid Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes in the last few years. Recent reports have also claimed that Endrick prefers joining Real Madrid ahead of other suitors, meaning they should be in pole position to land him.
