Crystal Palace are reportedly making a late attempt to bring Aaron Ramsey back to the Premier League after losing out Donny van de Beek to Everton.

According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Crystal Palace are ready to rekindle their interest in Aaron Ramsey and make a late attempt to bring the Welsh midfielder back to the Premier League. Juventus are willing to sanction a move, as they will be able to free up the former Arsenal midfielder’s massive wages off their books.

Crystal Palace want to bring in a box-to-box midfielder in this window as Patrick Vieira gears up the team for the second half of the season. The Londoners were in the chase for many options, although it now seems that Aaron Ramsey might be the closest they can get to signing their preferred target this month.

Vieira ideally wanted to sign Donny van de Beek from Manchester United. The Londoners did look very close to securing the Dutchman in the last few days, only for Everton to pip them for the midfielder. The Toffees rekindled their interest from last summer, and the lure of Frank Lampard was enough to convince the player.

With the opportunity wasted, Palace have not given up hope of bringing in a new player of the same quality. Ramsey was a target earlier this month for the Eagles, although they cooled their interest in the former Arsenal midfielder as they pursued van de Beek.

However, Crystal Palace seem to be back in the conversation with Juventus and Ramsey. There is a growing potential for agreeing an imminent move for the midfielder. The big problem would be the time remaining to complete the deals and splitting the wages with Juventus.

Ramsey’s wages surely cannot be paid by Palace, considering this will be a loan deal. Juventus have already cleared their docks amid Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski’s growing links with Tottenham. And now, it looks like former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be departing the Allianz Stadium.

Moreover, Juventus have agreed on a deal for Denis Zakaria, which puts more pressure on them to free up Ramsey’s wages off their books. As things stand, the Welshman could move imminently back to London, albeit with Crystal Palace and not Arsenal, as the transfer could happen well before Monday’s transfer deadline.
