Newly-promoted Premier League outfit Brentford FC have repirtedly registered interest in SC Braga’s 21-year-old whizkid Vitinha.

According to Record, as relayed by Sport Witness, Brentford FC are among the clubs monitoring the progress of Vitor Oliveira. The newly-promoted Premier League outfit are well aware of the 21-year-old attacker’s potential and are keeping an eye on his situation at SC Braga.

Commonly known as Vitinha, the young attacker has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in the Portuguese market following his success at Braga. A native of Cabeceiras de Basto, he has been a part of the team’s youth setup since 2017, from the age of just 17.

The striker has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence, notably making his debut almost a year ago against Nacional. Since then, he has notched up 18 competitive appearances for Braga, scoring 11 goals while bagging three assists. A centre-forward by trade, the 21-year-old has made a solid impression with his productivity and versatility in the final third, making him a real asset to his team.

Vitinha’s swift progression has not gone unnoticed, with the attacker emerging as a potential target for Brentford. The 21-year-old whizkid is not the only Braga player to be linked with a move to London, with the club reportedly eyeing a January swoop for his defensive teammate Francisco Moura.

After a somewhat impressive start to life in the Premier League, Thomas Frank’s men are prepared to further strengthen their unit in January. Especially in the offensive department, the Bees are looking for a strong competitor for Bryan Mbuemo and Ivan Toney, who has scored only four goals this term.

Vitinha fits the bill well, having showcased excellent productivity during his limited game-time at Braga this season. The forward does not bring a great deal of experience at the highest level of the game, but he does have the potential to become an asset for Brentford in the future.

However, Brentford could face stiff competition in the pursuit of Vitinha. In addition to the Bees, the youngster is also targeted by their London rivals in West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur. Not to mention, it remains unlikely that Braga would want to sell their star player, which means any interested party may have to trigger his hefty €30 million release clause if they are to secure his services this month.
