Paris Saint-Germain have rekindled their interest in Everton forward Richarlison as they start preparing for life without Kylian Mbappe.
According to a report from Fichajes, Everton and Brazil forward, Richarlison has re-emerged as a transfer target for French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain, amidst doubts over the future of Kylian Mbappe.
Richarlison has built quite a reputation for himself since arriving on English shores in 2017 when he signed for Watford from Fluminense. After an impressive debut season with the Hornets, he was picked up by Everton in 2018. Since then, the 24-year-old has grown into a key player for the Toffees.
Richarlison has featured 130 times for the Merseysiders to date, bagging 45 goals and 11 assists. Over the past couple of years, the Brazilian has been one of Everton’s best players, along with partner-in-crime Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Naturally, his development at Goodison Park has led to interest from some of the biggest clubs in the land.
PSG have emerged as an interested party for the 24-year-old’s signature. Les Parisiens had been linked with a move for the former Fluminense prospect during the summer, but a move never materialised. However, it seems like that they are back in the hunt to land Richarlison.
PSG are sweating over the future of superstar Kylian Mbappe, who has entered the final six months of his contract. The French international has previously turned down attempts to sign a renewal with the club as he has his sights firmly set on a transfer to Real Madrid in the summer when his contract runs out.
While the French capital club still retain hopes of convincing the ex-AS Monaco ace to sign a new deal, the chances of that happening are slim at the moment. And, they are now preparing for life without the 23-year-old, identifying potential replacements to fill the void that will be left when Mbappe departs.
PSG are believed to be in talks with Barcelona contract rebel Ousmane Dembele, while they are now back in the picture to sign Richarlison as well. The 24-year-old Everton star has struck up a good partnership with Neymar when playing for the Brazilian national team and could recreate it at Parc des Princes.
Richarlison is contracted to Everton until 2024, and the Toffees could demand a massive sum if PSG decide to make a formal approach. With Arsenal also interested in the 24-year-old, apart from PSG, he could very well be on the move come summer.
