Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona defender Sergino Dest and have made an offer worth €10 million to lure him away from Camp Nou.

According to a report from El Nacional, Barcelona right-back Sergino Dest has emerged as a transfer target for Serie A heavyweights Juventus, who are ready to shell out €10 million for the 21-year-old.

Dest rose through the academy ranks at AFC Ajax and made over 30 senior appearances for the Dutch giants before earning a move to Barcelona in the summer of 2020. However, his time in Catalonia has been disappointing so far as the full-back has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the starting XI.

Barcelona have brought in Dani Alves recently while manager Xavi Hernandez has been deploying Ronald Araujo on the right side of the defence. With Oscar Mingueza also an option at the disposal of the 41-year-old, the Blaugrana are ready to move Dest on at the earliest possible opportunity.

There has been interest from Chelsea, while Bayern Munich are also in talks to secure his signing. Now, Juventus have also emerged as a potential suitor for the USMNT international.

The Bianconeri have Juan Cuadrado and Danilo as options in the right-back slot. But considering the struggles of attacking players like Dejan Kulusevski and Federico Bernardeschi from the flanks, Massimiliano Allegri could push Cuadrado higher up the pitch, given that he has been a key avenue for creating chances for the team.

It would open up room for the arrival of a new right-back at the Allianz Stadium, more so with Mattia De Sciglio not entirely favoured by Allegri. To that end, Juventus have set their sights on Barcelona defender Sergino Dest and are believed to have made an offer of €10 million already.

The 21-year-old is valued at €18 million, but Barcelona are considering selling him for a loss as they look to free up room on their wage bill for new arrivals. However, despite talks between the two clubs going smoothly, Dest does not want to leave Camp Nou in the upcoming January transfer window.

The USMNT star considers Barcelona his dream club and wants to succeed with the Catalans. So, he is ready to snub a chance to move in January and force his way back into Xavi’s plans. In case he is unable to do that, Dest would be willing to assess his options at the end of the season. However, the defender is keen on continuing with the La Liga club for now.
