Transfer News: Real Madrid ready to offer €25 million package to sign Arsen Zakharyan

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer a package worth €25 million to sign 18-year-old Russian prodigy Arsen Zakharyan from Dynamo Moscow.

According to a report by Russian publication Championat, Arsen Zakharyan seems to be becoming a key target for Real Madrid heading into next summer’s transfer window. The Spanish giants are ready to offer a €25 million package to secure the services of the 18-year-old Dynamo Moscow prodigy.

Arsen Zakharyan joined Dynamo Moscow from the Konoplyov football academy in 2017. And in just three years after that, the teenage prodigy broke into the first-team squad at the Russian club in November 2020, aged just 17. Since then, the youngster has come leaps and bounds at the club, establishing a foothold in the senior side.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a solid 2021/22 campaign, amassing four goals and seven assists in 18 appearances across all competitions. At the same time, Zakharyan has also made his bow for the Russian national team. And the player’s progress has duly been noted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid.

The interest from Real Madrid is understandable, considering Luka Modric is approaching the end of his glittering career. In addition, Toni Kroos will soon enter the twilight of his career and could start getting phased out in a few years. At the same time, Dani Ceballos and Isco have been deemed surplus to requirements and have no future at the Santiago Bernabeu.

So, it behoves Real Madrid to invest in a midfielder, and signing a versatile player like Zakharyan will be a step in the right direction. The 18-year-old, along with Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde, could form the long-term midfield core for Real Madrid, succeeding Modric, Kroos and Casemiro.

To that end, the Spanish giants are preparing a package to sign the Russian prodigy, and they are ready to offer €25 million, including add-ons. Such an offer will sweeten the deal for Dynamo Moscow, who have been demanding €20 million to part with Zakharyan. However, recent reports have claimed that Zakharyan might not necessarily favour joining Real Madrid.

The youngster dreams of moving to Barcelona, and if the Catalan heavyweights join the race to sign him, they could secure his services. However, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid’s €25 million offer does the trick, with Predrag Mijatovic, Jeremic and Vlado Lemic already opening talks to get the club closer to a deal for Zakharyan.
