According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Manchester United have stepped up their efforts to sign Federico Valverde in next summer’s transfer window. The Red Devils have submitted an offer worth €60 million for the Real Madrid midfielder, but the Spanish giants have knocked back the bid, demanding around €80 million for him.
Since earning his first-team breakthrough a few years ago, Federico Valverde has been one of the most reliable performers for Real Madrid. However, with Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro the firm first-choice options in midfield, the Uruguayan international has had to bide his time at the Santiago Bernabeu.
To date, the 23-year-old has made 118 appearances for Real Madrid, chipping in with five goals and seven assists along the way. However, there have been suggestions that Valverde could seek a move away from Real Madrid if his situation does not improve dramatically in the second half of the season.
