Crystal Palace have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Paris Saint-Germain outcast Layvin Kurzawa in January.

According to Jeunes Footeux, Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to part ways with Layvin Kurzawa. The 29-year-old left-back has no future at the French capital, and the club has already offered him to Crystal Palace in an attempt to offload him in the January transfer window.

Kurzawa is currently among the longest-serving players at PSG, having been a part of the senior team since 2015. He had joined the club in a €25 million deal from AS Monaco after a stellar spell with Les Monegasques.

However, the defender has endured a difficult spell since his move to Paris, often struggling with a lack of game-time and failing to establish himself as a first-team regular in the PSG team. Injuries have not been kind to him either, forcing Les Parisiens to rely on other alternatives.

Indeed, Kurzawa is yet to feature in 2,000 minutes of league football in any of his past six completed seasons in Ligue 1. The 29-year-old has often played the role of a bit-part player in the team, and his status in the senior team has deteriorated massively in recent years.

The left-back has made only one competitive appearance in the current season, falling behind the likes of Juan Bernat, Abdou Diallo and Nuno Mendes in the pecking order. And while the French international still has a contract with PSG that does not expire until 2024, he is more than likely to depart Paris in the upcoming January transfer window.

It appears Crystal Palace have emerged as one of the clubs in contention to sign the Frenchman, as the Eagles are indeed looking for a new left-back. They have already been linked with a move for Wolves’ rising star Rayan Ait-Nouri, but one would argue Kurzawa could be an excellent cost-effective alternative for the youngster.

Although the former Monaco starlet has struggled at PSG, he does offer a wealth of experience at the highest level of football and can compete with Tyrick Mitchell for the left-back spot.

However, the report suggests Palace have not yet shown any indication of signing Layvin Kurzawa. It is apparent that head coach Patrick Vieira prefers younger players like Ait-Nouri, so PSG have may have to look elsewhere in their quest to offload the 29-year-old French international next month.
