Arsenal and Tottenham have reportedly lodged offers to sign Dejan Kulusevski, valued at around €35 million by Serie A giants Juventus.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their efforts to secure the services of Dejan Kulusevski in the January transfer window. The Premier League clubs have tabled offers for the Juventus forward, valued at around €35 million by the Serie A giants.
Dejan Kulusevski enjoyed his big break at Juventus in the 2020/21 season, playing a key role in ensuring a top-four finish in Serie A for the Bianconeri. However, the ongoing campaign has been forgettable for the 21-year-old, who has not been trusted much by Massimiliano Allegri.
Kulusevski has started only two of the 19 games that the Serie A giants have played this season, racking up a tally of one goal and assist apiece. His situation has become untenable in Turin, with Juventus ready to cash in on the Swede in the January transfer window to fund moves for their key targets. The player has no shortage of suitors, though, with Arsenal and Tottenham keen on signing him.
The interest from Arsenal is understandable as Nicolas Pepe is facing an uncertain future at the Emirates after failing to impress since arriving for a club-record fee two years ago. Recent reports have also suggested that Arsenal are ready to cash in on the Ivorian at the earliest possible opportunity.
Pepe has recently been linked with Serie A giants AC Milan, and his departure would open up a spot in the Arsenal attacking unit, one that Kulusevski can fill. However, the Gunners face stiff competition from Tottenham in pursuit of the Swedish international.
According to recent reports, Spurs are prioritising a January move for Kulusevski, and the eagerness to sign him is not without reason. That is because Bryan Gil could be loaned out in the winter window while Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn have failed to impress in their respective stints with Tottenham.
As per Fichajes, Arsenal and Tottenham have submitted offers to sign Kulusevski in the January transfer window. While it has not been specified what the respective bids are, the London clubs could be asked to pay €35 million to sign him from Juventus, according to the report.
So, it remains to be seen if Arsenal and Tottenham are willing to meet the Serie A giants’ demands of a €35 million transfer fee. However, what remains certain is that Juventus are looking to cash in on Kulusevski sooner or later to fund a move for priority target Dusan Vlahovic partly.
