Transfer News: Manchester United, Manchester City, West Ham interested in Youssef En-Nesyri

Sevilla forward Youssef En-Nesyri is set to attract a major transfer battle, with Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham keen on his services.

A recent report from Fichajes has offered an update on Youssef En-Nesyri’s future at Sevilla. Buoyed by the success of Rafa Mir, it appears the Spanish giants are considering a sale of their star forward. Their sporting director Monchi is aware of the player’s high valuation, with many regarding him as a cost-effective alternative to Erling Haaland.

As such, En-Nesyri has no shortage of suitors, with the report naming three clubs potentially in contention to snap him up. These are all Premier League giants, including the Manchester clubs and this season’s surprise package, West Ham.

Formerly of Leganes, En-Nesyri is considered one of the best forwards in La Liga, having enjoyed immense success since his move to Sevilla. He has already registered 33 competitive goals to his name in just 87 appearances, with 18 of them coming during the 2020/21 Laliga campaign.

During his time in the Spanish top-flight, the Moroccan international has impressed the onlookers with his all-round game. Standing at 1.89m, the forward is particularly imposing in physical and aerial duels whilst boasting the ability to sniff out goalscoring opportunities in the final third.

As a result, Manchester United have already identified him as a potential alternative to Erling Haaland next season. The same can be said for Manchester City, who may consider the Morrocan as a contingency option, should they miss out on their top targets such as like Haaland and Harry Kane next summer.

Despite the glaring window of opportunity of signing Haaland next summer, the two Premier League giants have been surprisingly open with their approach for a new striker. They are scouting multiple options across Europe, and one would imagine Youssef En-Nesyri could be among the appealing ones, primarily due to the fact that he is unlikely to cost a fortune.

As for West Ham, their interest in the Sevilla forward likely stems from David Moyes’ concerns over the lack of depth in the offensive unit. The Hammers have already faced criticism for over-relying on the services of Michail Antonio, so the arrival of En-Nesyri could take some of the burden off of the 31-year-old.

West Ham are considering other options as well, though, with Braga’s star talent Vitinha emerging as the most recent target for the London giants.
