Barcelona are reportedly set to be given a chance to secure the signing of 21-year-old PSG midfield prospect Junior Dina Ebimbe who is keen on an exit.

According to a report from El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain starlet Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe is looking to leave the club imminently in search of regular playing time, with his agent set to offer the midfielder’s services to La Liga heavyweights Barcelona.

Junior Dina Ebimbe has been on the books at PSG since 2012 when he joined the club’s youth setup from the AAS Sarcelles academy. The young midfielder rose through the ranks at the club at a rapid rate and enjoyed a couple of solid loan spells away at Le Havre (2019/20) and Dijon (2020/21).

The versatile central midfielder, who can also play on the right flank, impressed at Dijon last season, making 31 appearances in which he scored and assisted one goal. This prompted PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino to hold on to him and hand him his senior debut for the club in the ongoing campaign.

Having made his bow in the Trophee Des Champions defeat to LOSC Lille in August, Ebimbe has featured just five more times for Les Parisiens and is growing frustrated with a lack of game-time coming his way. As a result, the French Under-21 international is now angling for a move away from the French capital outfit, with Barcelona emerging as a potential destination.

The Catalans are building a new project under the management of club legend Xavi Hernandez, who took over the reins only this month. Barcelona are constructing a team around a core of young players like Gavi, Nico Gonzalez, Ansu Fati, Pedri, and Ronald Araujo, making the club an exciting destination for emerging talents across Europe.

This is precisely why an ex-La Masia prospect, Xavi Simons, is keen on returning to Camp Nou at the end of the season when his contract with PSG runs out. And it now seems like Ebimbe, too, is keen on following a similar path, with the report mentioned above claiming that the midfielder will be offered to Barcelona by his agent imminently.

Junior Dina Ebimbe came close to leaving in the summer transfer window, with the likes of Rennes and Freiburg trying to sign him for a fee of €2 million, but PSG held on to him. As per the report, his value is now €6 million. But given that his contract expires in 2023, he could be available for a much lesser fee. It now remains to be seen if Barcelona decide to take up the opportunity to sign the 21-year-old prospect.
