Transfer News: Real Madrid ready to make cut-price offer for Donny van de Beek

Real Madrid are reportedly readying a cut-price offer to swoop Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek away from Old Trafford.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Real Madrid seem to be stepping up their efforts to sign Donny van de Beek. The Spanish giants are preparing a cut-price offer to secure the services of the Manchester United outcast.

Donny van de Beek joined Manchester United from Ajax as the marquee arrival for the Red Devils in the summer of 2020. However, he has been anything but a marquee player for the Premier League heavyweights, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer barely rotating Bruno Fernandes in the no. 10 slot. His predicament has been worsened because he has lost his place in the Dutch national side as well.

Things have gone from bad to worse for van de Beek at the onset of the 2021/22 season, with the Dutchman making just five appearances thus far, amassing 154 minutes of game-time in the process. However, despite his struggles at Manchester United, the 24-year-old has no shortage of suitors, with Real Madrid chief among his prospective suitors.

The interest from Real Madrid is understandable, considering Luka Modric is nearing the end of his glittering career. In addition, Toni Kroos is well into his thirties and will need to start getting phased out in a couple of years.

So, while Eduardo Camavinga was signed in the summer, signing van de Beek will facilitate a smooth transition to the next generation of midfielders, especially with Isco and Dani Ceballos deemed surplus to requirements. And as per recent reports, the Manchester United outcast is keen on joining Real Madrid.

So, his bid to leave Manchester United will have received a massive boost from the latest reports that claim Real Madrid are readying a cut-price offer for him. Having said that, it is unclear whether Manchester United will accept a lowball offer for the out-of-favour midfielder.

What is certain, though, is that van de Beek is determined to end his struggles at Old Trafford by leaving Manchester United as soon as possible. So, it remains to be seen how much Real Madrid offer to secure the services of the Manchester United outcast, considering the ball is in their court now.
