Tottenham could prioritise the transfer of 21-year-old Fiorentina powerhouse Dusan Vlahovic once they appoint Antonio Conte as their new manager.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham could look to sign Dusan Vlahovic at the next available opportunity, with the Fiorentina star becoming a priority target. With Antonio Conte set to be appointed as new the Spurs manager, the Italian has reportedly requested the club sign the Serbian attacking powerhouse.

Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici have chased Antonio Conte for some time now. Having rejected Spurs in the summer when he was approached as Tottenham’s first-choice option, the former Inter Milan boss has reportedly accepted their latest proposal to become the man in charge in north London.

The announcement of his appointment looks imminent as reports suggest Paratici might have offered him assurances over transfers in addition to involving his compatriot in target identification. Conte has had a history of disagreements with previous employers such as Inter, Chelsea and Juventus over transfer dealings and funding.

The latest reports suggest Dusan Vlahovic is of interest to Conte, with the Italian seemingly asking the club to prioritise his signing. The 21-year-old striker was at the top end of Spurs’ target list had they lost Harry Kane to Manchester City in the summer. As the England captain stayed put, the chase for the Serb cooled off.

With Kane looking nowhere near his best, Tottenham are open to making an offer to Fiorentina for their prized asset. Paratici believes Vlahovic will improve the squad massively as the technical director prepares to add more names to the build-up from last summer.

Vlahovic had a prolific 2020/21 season, scoring 21 goals in Serie A. His displays attracted the likes of Juventus, Tottenham and others. Manchester City were keen on the Serbian attacking powerhouse as an alternative to Kane, with the Premier League champions still interested in him.

Tottenham are now one of the reported favourites to sign him, although they might have to part ways with around €60 million for his services. Vlahovic has started the current season in prolific fashion, scoring eight goals in ten Serie A games so far.

The striker has refused to sign a new deal with Fiorentina, leaving the Italian club with no choice but to entertain offers. Ideally, the Serie A outfit might get a higher value than €60 million  in the January window, although Vlahovic would reportedly prefer a summer move to continue his rhythm in Italy.

Next summer, he will have a year left on his deal, although Fiorentina are still expected to demand a sizable transfer fee. Tottenham are reportedly prepared to pay up for the striker, as Conte considers him to be a favourable signing. Moreover, with Kane’s future still uncertain, they would surely need to freshen up their front line.
