Tottenham Hotspur are in contention to sign Bayern Munich star Corentin Tolisso on a free transfer next summer.

According to Gazetta Dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso could be on the verge of moving away from Allianz Arena next season. His current contract in Bavaria expires in the summer of 2022, with the club unlikely to extend his deal in light of his struggles in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham Hotspur are apparently one of the clubs vying for the services of Tolisso next summer. Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have joined them in the race to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder, but the Lilywhites may have the financial advantage and offer the player a better deal amid his expiring contract.

More importantly, Spurs are certainly in a better position to offer regular game-time for Corentin Tolisso. It is something the Frenchman has lacked at Bayern. During his four completed seasons in the Bundesliga, the midfielder has attained ten or more starts in the league only once. It came during his maiden campaign in 2017/18.

The 27-year-old has since struggled to keep up with the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. Injuries haven’t been kind to him either, especially an ACL tear in 2018 that ruled him out for the entirety of the 2018/19 Bundesliga campaign.

Tolisso hasn’t had much luck establishing his dominance in the squad under any of the new coaches, either. He is now preparing to take the next step in his career, with Tottenham emerging as a potential destination.

Boasting the services of Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso, the North London giants have no shortage of creative midfielders in their ranks. However, Ndombele has recently emerged as a target for Sevilla while the other two options have either struggled with injuries or form.

The addition of the versatile Corentin Tolisso, therefore, could be useful for coach Nuno Espirito Santo. The Frenchman brings a wealth of experience and the winning mentality that could be crucial in helping the club recover from their recent downward spiral.

That said, the Lilywhites must keep in mind Tolisso’s horrific injury record at Bayern Munich. It does draw a few red flags over the Frenchman, whose unquestionable talent was wasted due to several injuries and fitness issues during his time in Bavaria. At the same time, though, his experience, skill and status as a free agent do indeed make him an appealing target for various clubs across Europe.

He can’t get in the Bayern side on a regular basis. He is injury prone, and allegedly only has one good leg.he is reputed to have a problem with physical fitness!!of course we want him at Spurs. He can have Darren Andertons, ( sick note), squad number and attend the physio with Sessengon.
A free just means he takes up a place in the squad and adds to our wage bill. His salary won’t be cheap.
