Real Madrid have reportedly been told to fork out €25 million if they are to sign 23-year-old French defender from RB Leipzig.
According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Real Madrid now know how much they will need to stump up in order to secure the services of Nordi Mukiele. RB Leipzig are demanding €25 million for the 23-year-old defender, who is becoming a key target for the Spanish giants.
Nordi Mukiele has come a long way since joining RB Leipzig from Montpellier in the summer of 2018. A player whose greatest asset is his versatility, the Frenchman can play as a centre-back, right-back and right wing-back equally adeptly, although he is now exclusively utilised on the right flank.
To date, the 23-year-old has made 120 appearances for the Bundesliga heavyweights, chipping in with ten goals and seven assists in the process. His progress over the last three years has also helped Mukiele in breaking into the French national side while some of the biggest clubs in Europe are starting to show an interest in him, with Real Madrid among those interested.
Real Madrid appear determined to enter the transfer market for a right-back next summer amid the frustrating fitness situation of Dani Carvajal. The Spanish international has been a valuable asset for Los Blancos during their successful run in recent years. However, a spate of injuries have curtailed his participation a fair bit in the past year or so.
Lucas Vazquez has mostly done well to fill the void of Carvajal in his absence, but has also started to falter a little lately. And with Alvaro Odriozola not really having much of a future at the Santiago Bernabeu, it is starting to become imperative that Real Madrid sign a right-back, with Mukiele one of the options being considered.
The 23-year-old will not cost a bomb either, with RB Leipzig demanding just €25 million for his services. The price tag is certainly quite attractive and it will not be surprising to see Real Madrid make their move for Mukiele as a result, although it will be interesting to see if the Bundesliga giants put up a fight to retain him.
Apart from Mukiele, Real Madrid are also showing an interest in Noussair Mazraoui, Diogo Dalot and Denzel Dumfries, among others. However, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid are instead focused firmly on signing Mukiele and whether they are prepared to offer €25 million to land him.
