Juventus are reportedly considering selling Dejan Kulusevski, which has handed Barcelona a boost in pursuit of the 21-year-old Swedish attacker.
According to a report by Transfer Market Web, Barcelona have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Dejan Kulusevski. Juventus are weighing up the prospect of cashing in on the 21-year-old attacker, who is also a target for Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.
Dejan Kulusevski joined Juventus from Atalanta in January 2020 and was immediately sent out on loan to Parma. After impressing in his temporary stint at Parma, the Swedish international was integrated into the first-team setup at the Allianz Stadium last season, and he was one of the more impressive players for the Bianconeri.
However, the 21-year-old has struggled to make an impression early in the 2021/22 season, with Massimiliano Allegri not taking a liking to him. As a result, Kulusevski has started just one of the nine games that the Serie A giants have played this season, providing just the solitary assist. Such a predicament has piqued the interest of Barcelona, among others.
Barcelona had, in fact, been linked with Kulusevski back in the summer transfer window as well but a move failed to materialise. The interest in the young attacker does make a fair bit of sense, seeing as he could be groomed to fit the system in place at Camp Nou.
His versatility also means Kulusevski could be deployed centrally or out on the flanks, with Barcelona linked with wide attackers as well as strikers of late. And now, the Blaugrana have been handed a major boost in pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Juventus are considering the possibility of parting ways with Kulusevski, which ought to hand Barcelona and other suitors the impetus to make their moves. Apart from Barcelona, Tottenham have also been linked with Kulusevski a fair bit lately while former club Atalanta and Serie A champions Inter Milan are keen on signing as well.
What now remains to be seen is if Barcelona do indeed make their move for Kulusevski in the January transfer window or some other suitor manages to prise him away, if he does end up leaving Juventus this winter.
