Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly one among three clubs that are lining up a January move for Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

According to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes, Tottenham Hotspur are looking at Torino and Italy striker Andrea Belotti as they consider bolstering their attacking options in the January transfer window.

One of the most consistent strikers in Serie A, Belotti has been with Torino since the summer of 2015 and has been a regular source of goals, bagging 106 goals and 26 assists from 231 appearances in all competitions, including one goal in two Serie A matches in the new season.

Having entered the final year of his contract with the Italian outfit, Belotti had been linked with an exit all summer. However, a move never materialised, although that could change in the January transfer window. And as per the aforementioned report, three clubs are interested in signing the 27-year-old, including Tottenham.

The Lilywhites had an impressive transfer window that saw them recruit as many as five players in the form of Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil, Pierluigi Gollini, Pape Matar Sarr and Emerson Royal, who arrived on the transfer deadline day from Barcelona. On top of that, Tottenham also managed to hold on to Harry Kane amid strong interest from Manchester City.

While that is all well and good, Tottenham still needed another centre-forward, considering that they do not really have a natural cover for Kane in the squad currently. While new manager Nuno Espirito Santo used Son Heung-min as a striker in the first couple of matches, someone who is more used to playing in the position would have been a good addition as Carlos Vinicius’ loan deal was not made permanent.

A move for Dusan Vlahovic had been mooted all summer long, but did not materialise. Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan was also heavily linked but the Argentine is set to sign a new contract with the Serie A champions. This has now seen Tottenham shift their focus towards Belotti ahead of the January transfer window.

The fact that the 27-year-old would potentially be available on a bargain would make him an even more enticing prospect for the Lilywhites. However, apart from the north London club, both Juventus and Inter Milan are also considering a move for the Italian international when the window opens for business.

It now remains to be seen if Tottenham do make a move to sign Belotti in January or decide to wait till the next summer to bring in a new centre-forward.
