Real Madrid superstar Eden Hazard is reportedly being lined up as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus this summer.

According to a report from MARCA, Juventus have set sights on Real Madrid’s Belgian wing-wizard, Eden Hazard, as an option to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who is on his way to Manchester United.

In what has been one of the craziest transfer windows of all time, Ronaldo is on the verge of sealing a sensational return to Manchester United. The 36-year-old informed Juventus earlier this week that he did not wish to continue at the club and it soon emerged that Premier League champions Manchester City were set to sign him up.

However, there was drama and a U-turn as Manchester United made a late swoop on Friday to reach an agreement with Juventus to secure the signing of Ronaldo. The Portuguese maverick is expected to complete the move subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed, neither of which is expected to be a problem.

The shock move, late in the transfer window, has left Juventus scouring the market for a replacement for the 36-year-old, and it is Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard that has emerged as a potential candidate. The 30-year-old has been with Los Blancos for two years now but has not had the easiest time in the Spanish capital.

Indeed, injuries, fitness issues have plagued Hazard throughout his stint with Real Madrid, sapping his confidence completely. Nonetheless, the Belgian international has made a decent start to the new season under new manager Carlo Ancelotti. However, the potential arrival of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain could affect his standing within the club and his game-time.

Juventus, meanwhile, are hoping to make the most of the situation by securing the signing of Hazard to replace their talisman, Ronaldo. The report adds that the Bianconeri are not in the best of health financially and would only explore the possibility of loaning the former Chelsea superstar on a loan deal.

Hazard, for his part, wants to stay at Real Madrid but is aware that things could change for him once Mbappe arrives, which could force him to rethink his stance on the matter. As things stand, though, the 31-year-old is very much on the radars of Juventus, as they look to deal with the exit of Cristiano Ronaldo, who is back at Manchester United.
