Noni Madueke is reportedly one of the two players being targeted by Tottenham Hotspur as they look to bolster their attacking options.
According to Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a summer swoop for another creative player, with 18-year-old English attacker Noni Madueke emerging as a potential target. The PSV Eindhoven youngster is joined by Denmark’s Euro 2020 starlet Mikkel Damsgaard as the two main candidates for Nuno Espirito Santo and Fabio Paratici.
Tottenham have already appeared quite active in the transfer market, having brought in Pierluigi Gollini and Bryan Gil. They are also on the verge of completing the deal to sign Cristian Romero, who is expected to arrive from Atalanta this midweek.
However, the club believes they still lack depth in the creative department. The departure of Erik Lamela, coupled with the struggles of Steven Bergwijn and Ryan Sessegnon, appears to have added a sense of uncertainty over the temerity of the attacking third next season, especially with Harry Kane linked with a move to Manchester City.
The Englishman’s potential departure should leave Son Heung-min as the only reliable forward for Tottenham, thus accentuating the need for another attacker. This is where Noni Madueke comes into the fray, having enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence during his time at PSV.
A native of London, the young winger, was a former member of the Tottenham youth academy but moved to PSV in 2018 in search of a breakthrough. It turned out to be a smart decision, with Madueke emerging as one of Eredivisie’s rising stars last season, chipping in with seven goals and six assists in just 24 league appearances.
The Englishman’s pace, dynamism and productivity in the final third attracted the interest of Leeds United earlier in the summer. However, Tottenham certainly have the advantage in pursuit of the 18-year-old English whizkid due to his past exposure in north London.
The Lilywhites are not likely to face any competition from any top clubs either. Borussia Dortmund were in the running last month, but their acquisition of Donyell Malen rules them out of the chase. It paves the ideally for Tottenham to sanction a move for Madueke, who has unfinished business in London and would love to return to his homeland.

Tottenham, though, have drawn up a list of potential alternatives. Philippe Coutinho, for one, has once again emerged as a topic of discussion in the north London camp, so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga transpires this month.
