Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all reportedly interested in signing Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus in the upcoming transfer window.
According to a report from Italian publication Tuttosport, Premier League bigwigs Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are all keeping an eye on Wojciech Szczesny ahead of the summer transfer window, with Juventus open to parting ways with the Polish international.
Szczesny spent the majority of his senior career at Arsenal before making his way to Italy, signing for AS Roma in 2015. Two years after his stint at the capital club, the 31-year-old was snapped up by Juventus and after initially playing second-fiddle to club legend Gianluigi Buffon, the ex-Gunners star has become the undisputed first-choice goalkeeper at the Allianz Stadium.
To date, Szczesny has racked up 137 appearances for Juventus, managing to keep 54 clean sheets and is a three-time Serie A champion. However, heading into the summer, there is a sense of uncertainty surrounding his future in Turin, largely stemming from the fact that Juventus are keen on signing Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Italian international will soon be a free agent as his contract with AC Milan runs out at the end of the month. And even though PSG are said to be closing in on his signing, there still remains hope within the Bianconeri camp with communication channels still very much open with his agent, Mino Raiola. And, should he come into the side, Szczesny will have to be offloaded, with such a development interesting the aforementioned English trio.
Arsenal, for one, could be looking for an upgrade over Bernd Leno, who has been linked with an exit from the Emirates this summer. To that end, they have been previously linked with a move for Szczesny, although of late, there has been a lot of noise surrounding a push to sign Andre Onana from AFC Ajax, with an offer reportedly in the works as well.
As for Chelsea’s interest in Szczesny, the Blues could potentially be looking to offload current second-choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is on big wages and look to replace him with the veteran Juventus star, to challenge Edouard Mendy, who has enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

With Tottenham, the links seem to be a bit bizarre given Szczesny’s past history with Arsenal. However, Spurs are in need of a new goalkeeper as Hugo Lloris is in the final year of his contract and has been linked with a move away. With Paulo Gazzaniga departing as a free agent and Joe Hart not in a position to challenge for the No. 1 spot, a new shot-stopper would be a welcome addition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, an exit for Szczesny may very well be off the cards as things stand, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that Donnarumma will be heading to PSG. It would seem like the Poland international could end up staying Turin after all, leaving Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham to look elsewhere for goalkeeping reinforcements.
