Transfer News: Chelsea defender Valentino Livramento on AC Milan radar

AC Milan have reportedly identified Chelsea whizkid Valentino Livramento as they plot to once again raid the newly crowned European champions.

According to Goal, AC Milan are in advanced talks with Chelsea over the permanent signing of Fikayo Tomori. There is a slight issue wit the valuation of the centre-back, but it appears the Serie A giants are already moving on to other targets and have targeted another Chelsea player in Valentino Livramento.

The youngster is currently plying his trade with the Chelsea reserve team and was even voted as the academy’s Player of the Year in 2020/21. A right-winger by trade, Livramento has impressed with his attacking prowess on the right flank, notably notching up two goals and six assists in the Premier League 2.

Livramento is quite a versatile player as well, having featured even in the right-back position for the Chelsea reserve side. His route to the first-team, though, is blocked by Reece James and Callum Hudson-Odoi, although the latter might be set for a move away from Stamford Bridge, amid interest from Borussia Dortmund.

Milan, nonetheless, are hoping to use this situation to their advantage and secure the services of Livramento. The English whizkid will fit in nicely in the Rossoneri camp that requires reinforcements on the right flank.

Davide Calabria has already had a lot of issues with fitness while there is a dearth of options in the right-wing position. Someone like Livramento could fit in ideally, competing with Samu Castillejo and Alexis Saelemaekers for a place in the Serie A giants’ first team.

Chelsea, though, cannot afford to offload the talented youngster, as they are also struggling with a similar problem. With Hudson-Odoi facing an uncertain future at the club, Reece James only remains the only viable option in the right wing-back position next season.

Livramento will be an excellent default solution to this problem, should Thomas Tuchel fail in his quest to sign someone like Jonas Hofmann or Lucas Vazquez. Chelsea are also reportedly keen on the services of Maxence Lacroix, although the VfL Wolfsburg starlet cannot cover for the right flank.
