Transfer News: Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United keeping tabs on Daniel Jebbison

Sheffield United whizkid Daniel Jebbison could be set for a summer switch, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United keeping close tabs on the youngster.

According to an exclusive report from 90 Min, Daniel Jebbison has emerged as a target for a bunch of top clubs across Europe. The Sheffield United prodigy is being tipped for a move away from the club, following their relegation from the Premier League this season. It has put the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United on red alert.

Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have also emerged as the latest clubs to join the race to sign Jebbison. Sheffield United, though, are keen on tying the centre forward down to a new long-term contract, as they consider him to be a vital component in their attacking unit next season, as the Blades eye an immediate return to the top flight.

A product of the Sheffield United academy, Jebbison is widely considered as one of the best talents in Yorkshire. His exploits in the English youth leagues have already earned him a call-up to the senior squad, with the youngster making his Premier League debut in the Blades’ 2-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

The 17-year-old is becoming a subject of interest for top English clubs is hardly surprising, as Brexit has made it difficult for them to scout talents abroad. As a result, they have emphasised their youth development projects at home, having been linked with numerous talents all over the country.

Unfortunately for them, even German giants like Dortmund and Bayern, have showcased a significant interest in poaching English talents, following the success of Jadon Sancho and most recently Jude Bellingham. Jamal Musiala, too, has been a breakout star at Bayern, although the youngster has chosen to represent the German national team.

From a tactical perspective, Jebbison could have a lot of options up his sleeves, as far as his next destination is concerned. Manchester United, for one, could offer him the opportunity to potentially become an understudy to the ageing Edinson Cavani while Chelsea are ready to offload Tammy Abraham and perhaps even Timo Werner this summer.

That said, Arsenal could be the most logical option, as the Gunners brace themselves for a complete squad overhaul in the summer. Even their club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with a shock move to Tottenham while the likes of Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are not trusted at all by Mikel Arteta.

Jebbison, in that regard, could become the next pool of young attackers for Arsenal and could compete for a breakthrough in professional alongside another raw talent in Folarin Balogun. However, it remains to be seen if any of Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United can swoop the 17-year-old whizkid away from Sheffield United this summer.
