Arsenal are reportedly keeping tabs on Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who could be available for around £20 million in the summer.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Arsenal are among a number of clubs mulling over the possibility of making a swoop for Fulham star Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the summer transfer window.

Anguissa signed for Fulham in the summer of 2018 from French club Marseille and impressed in his debut campaign in England despite the Cottagers getting relegated. The 25-year-old spent the last season out on loan at Villarreal and did well in Spain, before returning to Craven Cottage in the summer, with Fulham back in the top-flight.

Anguissa has been one of Scott Parker’s better players this season even as they ended up getting relegated yet again. So far in 2020/21, the Cameroonian midfielder has featured 35 times in all competitions, registering three assists in the process. An energetic, box-to-box midfielder, the Fulham ace could be sold by the club in the summer for a transfer fee of £20 million, alerting a number of clubs, including Arsenal.

The Gunners, after what has been a disappointing campaign so far, will be eyeing a squad overhaul in the summer, with midfield being one area where reinforcements will be very much in need. Indeed, Dani Ceballos will see his loan deal expire at the end of the season while Mohamed Elneny is largely used as a rotation option by manager Mikel Arteta.

With Joe Willock likely to seal a permanent transfer away from the Emirates, Arsenal will be left with just Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and the aforementioned Elneny as options in the centre of the park, thus warranting the addition of a new midfielder ahead of the next season.

To that end, they have been heavily linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma, while recent reports have also claimed that Arsenal are set to prioritise a move for Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga. However, given the competition for both the players, Anguissa could represent a viable alternative for the north London giants.

Arsenal, though, are likely to have to contend with interest from Everton as well as Aston Villa, both of whom are looking at Anguissa to bolster their midfield units. The Cameroonian international is contracted with Fulham till the summer of 2023, with the club retaining the option of extending it by another year. But with the club open to offloading the 25-year-old, it now remains to be seen if the Gunners end up making a move.
