Transfer News: Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United told to pay £17 million to sign Patson Daka

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United could land Patson Daka for a bargain £17 million fee in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Daily Star, the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United now know how much they will have to shell out to land Patson Daka in the summer transfer window. The Zambia international, who is viewed as an alternative for Erling Haaland, is available for a mere £17 million price.

Daka has taken Austrian football by storm since bursting out of the shadows of Erling Haaland post the Norwegian prodigy’s move to Borussia Dortmund in January 2020. And, in the ongoing season, in particular, the 22-year-old has been simply phenomenal, with a return of 30 goals and 8 assists in just 32 appearances across all competitions.

Suffice to say, the Zambian striker has duly been noticed by some of the biggest clubs in the world, with a lot of interest coming from the Premier League in the form of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. And, following his 11-minute hat-trick this past weekend, the aforementioned trio seem to be set to step up their efforts to land him.

The interest from Arsenal is not one-bit surprising, considering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is facing an uncertain future at the club. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah also touted to be set to depart the Emirates in the summer, the Gunners seem to have an urgent need to sign a striker.

As for Liverpool, there are growing murmurs over a possible sale of Roberto Firmino, who is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid. While there have been links with former striker Luis Suarez, Daka would be a long-term solution for the Reds, with his eye for a goal coming in handy for a side that has blown hot and cold in the final third this term.

Finally, Manchester United’s interest could be stemming from the fact that Anthony Martial has been dreadful this season and could possibly be on his way out of Old Trafford. With Edinson Cavani also linked with a switch to Boca Juniors, it is not hard to see why the Red Devils would want to sign a striker, seeing as Mason Greenwood will be the only other natural centre-forward in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

Now, the three Premier League heavyweights, who are viewing Daka as a potential alternative to Haaland, are set to be attracted further by Daka, who has a bargain £17 million valuation. However, the report adds that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United will have to move quickly in pursuit of Daka to avoid the risk of his price tag soaring further.

Meanwhile, Everton are also keen on signing the free-scoring striker and it will be interesting to see how the intense competition affects his valuation. For now, though, it looks like Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are set to wage battle over a £17 million move for Daka come summer.
