Real Madrid are reportedly in the driver’s seat to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and are set to beat Manchester United to his signature.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Real Madrid are currently the favourites to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, having overtaken Manchester United in the fight for the English attacker.

Real Madrid were unable to make any signings in the last two transfer windows as they suffered from an economic crisis due to the absence of public in the stadiums. Florentino Perez has managed the club in the best possible way to make sure Los Blancos will participate in the upcoming transfer window and the president is looking to make several key signings to improve the squad.

Perez has primarily targeted Jadon Sancho and will use his close relationship with Borussia Dortmund to get the deal over the line in the summer. Zinedine Zidane admires the Englishman’s attacking qualities and considers him to be a significant upgrade on the right side of his attack, especially with Lucas Vazquez’s future being up in the air.

Real Madrid are reportedly also interested in signing Sancho’s teammate Erling Haaland and will look to bring the duo to Santiago Bernabau in the upcoming transfer window. The 20-year-old Dortmund attacker, who is also a target for Manchester United, has been in fine form this season with 11 goals and 16 assists to his name in all competitions.

The German club have currently valued him at €100 million, but they could agree on a deal close to €85 million for the player as they will have to sell some of their key players to balance their accounts in the summer. Manchester United were the closest to sign Sancho last summer, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer being a huge fan of the player and considered him to upgrade United’s attacking options.

However, the Red Devils were unable to pay the €120 million demanded by Dortmund last summer and hence the deal did not go through. Manchester United, though, are still looking to bring Sancho to Old Trafford, but now face stiff competition from Real Madrid. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid find success in beating Manchester United for Sancho’s signature in the summer.
