Transfer News: Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City consider Angel Correa move

Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Angel Correa from Atletico Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Todo Fichajes, Angel Correa is attracting the interest of some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League. The Atletico Madrid forward is the subject of interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, among others.

Angel Correa joined Atletico Madrid from his first professional cub San Lorenzo in 2014, but it was not until August 2015 that he finally managed to make his debut for the Spanish giants. In the past half-a-decade or so, the 25-year-old has gone in and out of Los Colchoneros’ side, never really establishing himself as a pivotal figure for the club.

However, he still remains a regular face for the Rojiblancos and in the ongoing season, he has gone on to feature in every single game in Diego Simeone’s side, with 3 goals and 9 assists in 27 outings. His performances this season seem to have caught the eye of several Premier League bigwigs, which include Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City.

Arsenal have been in the market for a creative solution from the flanks, which had seen them being linked with Emiliano Buendia last month. While Bukayo Saka has flourished on the flanks and Nicolas Pepe has been showing signs of improvements, the struggles of Willian are forcing Arsenal to remain in the market for a wide man.

As for Manchester United, their lingering problem remains the right wing berth. The Red Devils have long been chasing Jadon Sancho, though they have been advised not to chase the Englishman by former striker Dimitar Berbatov. Manchester United have brought in Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri, but both are future stars while in Correa, they would have an immediate solution.

Meanwhile, Manchester City could have a twin-fold use of Correa. With the Argentine capable of playing through the middle as well, Pep Guardiola could mitigate the issues pertaining to Sergio Aguero while also possibly utilising him out wide. City have also been linked with Gabriel Veron, who is also a target for Arsenal and Manchester United, as per reports.

The report claims that the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City, apart from Everton, have all been impressed by Correa’s displays this season and are seriously considering a summer move for him. Atletico Madrid value him at €50 million and could yield if a reasonable bid comes their way. It will be interesting to see if any of the Premier League suitors make a move for him soon.
