Chelsea are mulling over the future of Callum Hudson-Odoi while Olivier Giroud could be set for a January move to Inter Milan.

According to Eurosport, Chelsea are unsure over the development of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The winger has struggled with a lack of game-time and injuries over the past 18 months, with Christian Pulisic’s return to fitness only set to cause further difficulties.

As a result, the club will hold talks among themselves regarding the future of Hudson-Odoi and a decision will be made on whether or not he will be allowed to leave Stamford on loan, in the upcoming January transfer window.

The winger, so far, has had a disappointing start to the campaign overall, featuring in just over 150 minutes of league football. Despite the absence of star man Pulisic for the majority of the season so far, it appears that the Englishman has fallen behind the likes of Mason Mount, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz and Timo Werner in the pecking order.

However, Hudson-Odoi, given all his talents and quality, should not find it difficult to attract suitors despite a poor season. The 20-year-old was linked with a move to Bayern Munich for the majority of 2020 before the German champions eventually settled for the wide attacking duo of Leroy Sane and Douglas Costa, who was signed on loan from Juventus.

While it remains unlikely that Bayern would want to make a move for Hudson-Odoi in January, clubs like Everton or even Fulham could fancy loaning the winger in an attempt to bolster their respective teams.

Olivier Giroud linked with Inter Milan move

Hudson-Odoi might not be the only player leaving Stamford Bridge in January, with Olivier Giroud now emerging as a potential target for Inter Milan, according to the same Eurosport report.

It is believed that the ageing striker is keen on securing a spot in France’s squad for the upcoming European Championships next summer. So he prefers a move to a club where his qualities can be trusted and that is where Antonio Conte comes into the fray.

The Italian tactician, who initially brought in Giroud to Chelsea back in 2018, is apparently a huge admirer of the Frenchman. The Inter Milan manages even fancies Giroud to provide short-term cover for Lautaro Martinez, who, in turn, has been linked with a move away from San Siro.

However, Giroud’s potential move to Inter could hinge on the future of Conte himself as the ex-Juventus boss has come under tight scrutiny in recent weeks, particularly due to the poor performances in the UEFA Champions League.

Conte being fired midway through to the campaign could be on the cards if the team continues to underperform not only in Europe but also in the league, so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga transpires over the coming weeks.
