Brentford winger Said Benrahma is reportedly on the radars of Premier League giants Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
As reported by The Sun, Brentford star Said Benrahma has admitted that he is flattered by the interest from Premier League clubs, amid links with Chelsea.
The 24-year-old came through the ranks at French outfit OGC Nice and made the switch to Brentford in the summer of 2018. He has grown into a key player for the Bees ever since, establishing himself as one of the best players in his position in the EFL Championship.
Benrahma has had a scintillating 2019/20 campaign, helping Brentford finish third in the Championship. The Algerian winger has racked up an impressive tally of 17 goals and 9 assists from 43 appearances in the second division, playing an integral role in the club’s playoff position finish.

This has led to serious interest in the winger’s services from Premier League giants Chelsea. The Blues have had an impressive campaign so far under new manager Frank Lampard, as they sit on the verge of qualifying for Champions League for next season, while making it to the finals of the FA Cup.
However, Chelsea will need recruitment in the wide areas in the summer as both Pedro and Willian are on the verge of leaving the club once their contracts expire at the end of the season. A move for Bayer Leverkusen superstar Kai Havertz is believed to be in the works, but that hasn’t stopped them from pursuing the signature of Benrahma.
The Algerian international has now spoken out on the speculations surrounding his future, admitting that he is flattered by the interest, but remains focused on the task at hand.
“I was really flattered, but, at the same time, I am so focused about getting out of the Championship with Brentford that I do not pay too much attention. I always watched the Premier League, especially Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea,” he said.
A move to Stamford Bridge, however, might hinge on Brentford not being able to secure promotion to the Premier League, as Benrahma insisted that he is keen on playing in the top-flight with the Bees.
“It has always been a target of mine to play in the Premier League and I really wish to play in the Premier League with Brentford. It would be magnificent for Brentford to be in the Premier League because it would be the first time and we have really been working hard on it,” he said.
Benrahma is contracted with Brentford till 2022, with the club retaining the option of extending it by another year. It remains to be seen if Chelsea do act on their reported interest in the three-time capped Algerian international.
