Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is reportedly on the summer transfer wishlist of Premier League giants Chelsea and Tottenham.
According to Daily Mail, Chelsea and Tottenham are set for a tussle in the summer transfer window for Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale. The London duo are hot on the heels of Ramsdale, who is being closely monitored as a potential summer arrival by the two clubs.
Aaron Ramsdale is enjoying life at Bournemouth. In what is his debut senior campaign for Bournemouth and in the Premier League, the stopper has not only been a pleasant surprise for Eddie Howe & co. but also established himself firmly as the first-choice at the club.
While his numbers do not resemble a pleasant reading, with Ramsalde conceding 44 goals and keeping just 4 clean sheets in 28 Premier League matches so far, his shot-stopping ability and consistency in front of the net has thrown him into the transfer hat, with Chelsea and Tottenham keen.
Chelsea have been exploring several potential names as worthy replacements for Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has disappointed since arriving for a record fee and is simultaneously being linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer. Among the goalkeepers that have been linked with Chelsea, there have been a few close to home, with Dean Henderson the pick of the lot so far.
But, any move for the Manchester United loanee would prove to be difficult because of his public affection for the Red Devils. Ramsdale on the other hand, seems to be a more realistic and approachable option.
Tottenham have an ageing Hugo Lloris as their first-choice and Jose Mourinho would not have been happy with what he witnessed from the Frenchman as Spurs bowed out of the Champions League to RB Leipzig. Mourinho would be looking to bring in a replacement for Lloris; maybe an able competitor who can take over the reins from the 2018 World Cup winner in due course.

Ramsdale has proven himself to be Premier League ready but is yet to prove his quality beyond a single season. But, the 21-year-old has a Bournemouth contract that runs till 2024, which means Eddie Howe has the more powerful hand in any potential negotiation.
Chelsea and Tottenham will have to stump up a lot of cash to even tickle the imagination for Bournemouth to part ways with Ramsdale who has taken to life at Bournemouth so swimmingly in his debut Premier League season. Unless they fail to land other targets or Bournemouth somehow get relegated, it looks unlikely that the aforementioned will happen in the summer.
